개요 Introduction |
현재 한민족은 모국대비 동포인구가 세계에서 이스라엘 다음으로 가장 많은 민족입니다. 일제강점기, 2차대전, 한국전쟁 등을 거치며 많은 수의 한민족은 외부적 요인에 의해 모국을 떠나 세계 각지에 흩어져 다양한 모습으로 삶을 영위해나가고 있습니다.
평화의 부재로 인해 디아스포라가 된 이들은 역설적으로 평화를 더욱 갈망하게 됩니다. 비록 아픔의 역사를 가지고 있어도 그 고통을 승화해 타지에서 그들만의 방식대로 평화를 찾아 새로운 평화적 정체성으로 다시 태어나게 됩니다. 코리안 디아스포라들은 그렇기에 ‘평화의 사람들’입니다.
제2회 디아스포라 다이얼로그는 이틀간 청년 디아스포라들과 연사들이 온/오프라인 공간에 모여 ‘코리안’이라는 정체성과 내러티브에 대해 구축과 해체의 작업을 함께 하고자 하며, 디아스포라적 정체성을 품고 사는 이들이 그리는 한반도 평화에 대해 고민하려 합니다. 전세계 흩어져있는 젊은 코리안 디아스포라들의 생각을 청취하고, 평화와 통일을 ‘분단되지 않은’ 이들의 탈분단적 시선 속에서 새롭게 전망하고자 합니다.
Proportionally, Korea has the most overseas population outside of the national boundary after Israel. Withstanding Japanese colonial era, WWII, and the Korean War, many Koreans spread out by external factors and yet have carried on where they landed.
Those who've become diasporas because of lack of peace paradoxically desire more for peace. Therefore, Korean diasporas are the "People of Peace."
The 2nd Annual Diaspora Dialogue will be a 2-day conference to construct and deconstruct the “Korean” identity and narratives, and to ask what it means to wish for peace in Korea as a diaspora. It will be a chance to amplify the scattered voices of the younger generation of Korean diasporas around the world, in particular on the issue of reunification of the Korean peninsula and their perceived roles in it.

Provide a platform for networking and sharing thoughts about "Korean" and "Diasporic" identities for young Korean diasporas throughout the world

Discuss the unique role of Korean diasporas in advancing to peace and overcoming division in the Korean peninsula

Offer fresh insights about the unification outside the boundaries of traditional and nationalistic discourse
